Great atmosphere. Very lively. Staff was super friendly and food was absolutely fantastic. I ordered Maydoon Salad with shredded lamb.. Prices were typical, nothing crqzy. it was amazing. Keep up the good work.
That’s what I called perfection… atmosphere, flavour and service… perfect combination of everything… we do not have to wait long for food… food taste amazing… server was friendly and informative… she provided us best services… I was very happy… definitely worth trying …
Maydoon is one of those spots that makes downtown dining feel easy and exciting. The vibe is modern and warm, music at a happy hum, and the energy from the street spills right in. We started with mast-o-musir and warm pita, and it set the tone perfectly, creamy yogurt with that gentle shallot bite. From there the Sultani arrived glistening from the grill, juicy and well seasoned with that smoky char I love, paired with fluffy saffron rice and a roasted tomato that actually tastes like summer. The chicken breast with a side salad surprised me in the best way, tender and lemony with crisp greens and a bright house dressing. And the lamb shank was the showstopper, fall-off-the-bone in a rich tomato and turmeric broth that soaked into the rice just right. Service was kind and attentive, and the pacing let us linger without ever waiting on a thing. Delicious food, cool location, and a place I’d happily come back to for another round of that lamb shank and mast-o-musir.
I finally had a chance to try this Persian restaurant in downtown Sacramento on February 21st. Restaurant is very welcoming, We were warmly greeted upon entering and seated at a half booth and half chairs table against one of their walls near the windows. Our server was Santiago, he was great, very warm and welcoming, field it all of our questions about the menu very attentive to dietary restrictions. I had brought her a very nice bottle of champagne with me so they set us up with an ice bucket. We started with an order of Dolmeh and Tadigh. Both appetizers were excellent especially that Tadigh. I had the Soltani for my main and my companion head Lamb Shank. The Soltani was excellent or my companions lamb shank disappeared quickly. If you're in or around downtown Sacramento definitely take the time to visit this great restaurant.
Maydoon is a midtown Sacramento culinary treasure of modern Persian cuisine. Its cozy yet charming atmosphere makes it a perfect choice for a date night out or with friends or family. I have experienced and thoroughly enjoyed dinner and lunch here. From the lovely special cocktails to the exceptional food, you will not be disappointed-you might even want to dine here regularly (I’m hooked). From the amazing Babaganoush to the koobideh and kabobs.; the modern take on specialty bowls designed to entertain your tastebuds, then the amazing green chutney (which they bottle and you can purchase to take home). You will be greeted kindly and fed well. Remember to make a reservation as it gets busy. Highly recommend.
The place was so busy that I had to sit at the bar. The meal was so worth it. Really enjoyed the Falafel for appetizer, crispy on outside and soft on inside. The sultani was one kabob of delicious chicken and one kabob of scrumptious beef. The rice was perfect, make sure to ask for butter to put on it. I also had a shirazi salad that could have been a little more tangy but was very good nevertheless. Perfect with a glass of red Barbara. Was so close to mot ordering dessert but it was incredible the saffron ice cream and baklava combo. Came to celebrate zan zandegi azadi!
Loved this place - the tahdig with khoresh was great, the ghormeh sabzi was the right level of juicy, the maast o khiar was on point, and the bastani sonnati was to die for. Great service too.
Never disappoints! Consistent great quality and taste, and definitely one of the best Iranian restaurants in the area. The dishes are not necessarily made in an authentic traditional way, but taste great anyways. I really love the Meydoon bowl here!
